Back from Hintertux 2011

So I’m back from Hintertux.  I’ve been to fis camp again… ;) It was very cool week of skiing. First, i was kind of unwilling to go there, because of school and other stuff… but what can be better than week of skiing?!    I went there with Laura, Rokas and Bananas. And I shared room with Laura, next to us lived latvian girls Agnese and Liene, in upper balcony Masa from Serbia with Grete from Estonia. In balcony across we had greek guys, latvians I guess ;) Good company, right?! ;D

First day we had freeskiing… I had it with slalom skies cause they’re new! ROSSIGNOL THIS SEASON NEW MUST-HAVE!!! ;D No joke! And then we had pretty tough run, but me and Laura survived like men!!!

Second day and third was GS and SL timing and tests.  Pretty exhausting, but I just loved weather those days. IT WAS PERFECT FOR HINTERTUX!

Forth day was kind of challenge cause legs felt already sore not bad, but quite sore ;) But I enjoy both trainings and COMPANY !!!

And finally last day came and I couldn’t believe it.. time flew so fast! On hill we had some powder and automatically not really perfect slalom training, but weather and snow was cool! On conditional training we had pretty tough run, but again me and Laura were keeping up good run and we did it pretty awesome!

In evening we had small party (if i could call it party.. more like a small meeting) with girls .. just chating and laughing, but it was cool!

I thank a lot for coaches and also guys who stayed with me all week! Especially Laura who suffered week with me, latvian girls who kept a good company  ;) also Anastasia and Masa and slovakian girls I had funnn ;D

Lots of love & peace

Ieva ;D*******

White circus :)

Ciao!!!

Well, a lot of time passed, when I wrote… It’s kind of busy time for me now ;D  For such a long time I been rushing so much to get everywhere on time.. and I did , but only thing that I’m quite tired! Anyway, I’m enjoying this lifestyle and I could use to it if in future I get a chance to travel so much!!!!!! In those past months I been to Liptovska Teplicka (Slovakia), Civetta(Italy), Karlov pod Pradedem(CZE) and finally to Lysa Gora (Poland)!!! Some race where tough..  OK, i mean all race where tough :) . In some of them I made pretty good result and in some of them I did truly a crap!!

In Liptovska Teplicka I had my first FIS race this season. Man, I was so worried, I still remember and first run of GS was quite tolerable, but other one was not a good one.

I guess I have some serious problems with GS I have to solve. And I  find out that I also have problems with my preparation before start and one more problem with not getting out of my comfort zone and at the end of that I wish I could have more trainings :P  God, I remembered that there is something wrong about my positive thinking.. it just gone somewhere ;(

Anyway, excluding that everything goes OK. After bad GS in Teplicka. I did some slalom for a grade ‘OK’ :)

EVENINGS IN TEPLICKA!

ON THE HILL WITH MY TEAMMATE LAURA!

LAURUSHKA LIKES TO POSE IN FRONT OF CAMERAS!

COACHES AND GIRLS WITHOUT BOYS ( GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY WERE GONE) ;)

After one week in Slovakia, we headed up to Lithuanian alpine skiing championship in Civetta! We were driving all day and then half of the night.. I guess we arrived to place about 5 o’clock in the morning and I was thinking just about how I’ll jump directly to very very comfortable pile bed, had a few words with Ieva in bed and fell asleep.

On Wednesday , we had GS race. The slope was so perfect, a bit soft, but looked perfect.. and as you know.. with my abilities I failed. First run was technical, but slow.. even I felt that when I was going through the course I wasn’t flying, I was just doing some OK giant slalom turns. After both runs I ended up third in my age group. In the evening I thought “Go to hell, Ieva, if you won’t change everything tommorow in slalom!!” Then after preparing skies I went to sleep and just before I fall asleep, I was thinking ‘I CAN, I CAN, ICAN’.

So .. here it comes, next morning, slalom start and of course I’m crazy about how good today will be and how I’ll ski good and also confused like always. And we left to slope. It was about 15 km from our apartments. I step into the gondola with Dzigitas  (Marcele) and put on some music from my MP3.  Then we  rushed to put our slalom boots and then helmet and…. then my heart jumped out of my throat, cause I %$@#^* FORGOT MY HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!! I shouted in gondola and even started to cry.. Dzigitas tried to calm me down and after few series of ‘ Ieva, can you please calm down!’ we started to joke about chill italians. I lifted up and coaches said that we’ll figure it out. On top of the slope I put my backpack.. i was quite OK at that moment. Before I find out that I FORGOT MY %$*#*%$$ SHINGUARD!!! HOW MUCH WORSE CAN IT GET???? If not few poeple who saved my life by borrowing things, I would be truly dead :)

Anyway, that day finished good! I ended up 1st in women group and 4th overall. Jejjjjj!!! ;D

Last day was perfect. We were freeskiing and sunbathing. I was dreaming about this day for weeks ;P

And finally I wanted to write the most important thing, that American alpine skier (now freestyler and snowboarder) Daron Rhalves wrote to me:

Follow your dreams and go fast! Live to ski!

Love <3,

Ieva

Garmisch-partenkirchen

So I just came back from Garmisch. I was training here for a week. A wonderful place with great pistes. I was for the first time here. And acctually this year Garmisch will hold alpine skiing championship. As I mentioned it was really great week of trainings. For the first 3 days we had slalom. First day wasn’t very good, I needed time to get along with snow and skies, but other days was  quite okay, I felt better and better. We were training with Greece National team and I could say it was truly useful expierence.

On Tuesday, fourth day, we finally had GS training, but the day started with some misunderstanding. Coaches  set our course  on the slope, we went for free run, then lifted up and  we saw a man with  ski-doo on the start. He told us that we have to collect the course, because somehow we couldn’t set the course there. So we missed half of ourskiing day, but we  worked more later after lunch.

And last day came so fast I didn’t even feel it. I had a feeling saying… hey, in few days I will get back home and it’s christmas!!! and it will be so cool. But I had stronger feeling, which was saying…  I truly want to stay here forever.

Last day  of GS went  perfectly. We had open and fast GS and few free-skiing runs. I was happy about them, but still need a lot of work!!!

Now when I’m writing this note and listening to music , Audrius is driving. Last night I finally got my mind together… skiing is what i want to do and skiing is thing in my life forever.  We are leaving and I turn my head back, I see white tops of mountains and I felt that i belong there. I’m sitting  seeing ,that view and I want to cry so bad… as much as I miss home in alps.. still when i’m home I miss mountains more.

I have a huge goal now.

I have  to stand strongly on one feet, don’t stop and pray that everything goes according to plan.

:) ))

Love,

Ieva.

P.S. Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!

MTB season closing races

Hello,

This Sunday I participated in MTB season closing race. It took place in Zalieji Ezerai , near Vilnius. I had raced in this course and I knew very well that it will be challenging :) So, on Sunday morning around 80 people got together for this MTB season closing bikes party :) Personally, I was really afraid of that course… as I knew it was middle-lenght and quite tough ride. Eventually, it was just 20 minutes till start, so we came to the start place and in minutes, Danguole declared start!! Just in the first  kilometers I got to deal with technical bike problems. The chain went of.. and I put it on, but I missed almost all riders. However it was just a start of race.. :) in middle of course, a branch got into my chain and I broke the branch by affecting my gears ;// but I didn’t feel it yet. In couple of minutes, the worst uphill came, so i changed my gear to lower and the everything started to wobble. At the end I realized that there was something wrong, when I changed my gear from 5 to 1. Anyway I finished both laps, of course with kind of disaster time :D DD.. but i finished.

However, the course was amazing, with crazy downhills and hard uphills, also with very risky single-tracks!

Thanks for MTBF for great organization and race very much!!!

The first snow in Lithuania

it’s unbelievable!! It’s snowing, here right in front of me!! wow!! It’s acctually the first snow in Lithuania!

I didn’t ecpect it, this morning. I was just watching another House M.D. serie, when I turned my head to check hours and I saw the snow falling outside!! :) First, I thought it will be temproary, it’ll last for couple of minutes, but noo.. it’s about an hour, when it’s snowing and it’s snowing a lot!!! :D Should we expect, that we’ll be skiing at this time next week?! I HOPE so!

So for such a great thing happend today, I put on Frank Sinatra’s Christmas CD and it made me very happy. Yes, I’m very happy no matter, that today I have pretty tough day at school.

I wish you all a LOT of snow! I HOPE it won’t finish snowing!

Snowy hug and kiss for all!

Weekend of sports

Kon’nichiwa :D

what’s up?

sky is up! :)

Another weekend of fun! On Sathurday it was annual run called ‘ Bėkime su Živile Balčiūnaite’! For fist time in Vingis park and it was great atmosphere, lot of people and even president Valdas Adamkus!

I ran 4,2km, my father ran 10km. I just felt horrible, while I was runing. Not a lot of trainings.. need more. Good thing I finished and not so bad :) And also it was great to see my friend cycler Danguolė. She stand with me during almost all event.

But there was some misunderstanding in Elite group run. As in running race there was a lot of athletes from abroad.. so the Belarus guy was running first after the car and when the car had to turn one small lap, but it went straight to finish and all of the Elite athletes did the same mistake.  In my opinion,  it was organizator mistake by the lack of information for athletes. But luckly they was able to give awards.

At the end of event, we saw president Valdas Adamkus, he was guest of honnor. He awarded winners and had a chat with participators.

Anyway, that was a good race :)

On Sunday, we went to LT MTB marathon last stage in Anykščiai. Before race I actually thought that I hate this course.. I was driving here and I was thinking of how hard it will be and how I don’t want to ride here. But in start section I’ve felt  very competetive.  And I in course I just wonder how wrong I was about this course. It was really good :) wet, but good. It was great to see Jenn and Ieva riding in this marathon too.  When I was riding, I got my feet very cold after caring my bike through the river. :) All the way to the finish I was thinking of my dry socks. I’m really happy about participating in all stages! And also finishing them! (with few technical disorders).

Back to school… weekend – užskaitom :)

So so so…. summer is gone !!! It happend so fast.. I mean it just flew! God, I want more, please!!! but nothing can be done. Also, I already see ski season ahead and that makes me smile :)

Also I got my lesson schedule and I’m not happy, because I have 7 lessons on Friday, but it may change.. I hope :) )

But still I wanted you to tell about my last week and last weekend of summer.

On August 24th, my last summer camp started. As always it was in Ignalina :) We done kind of same program like last one, just this time weather ruined some of our training. And this time we had harder trainings! At the end of the week we got a surprise!!! Our coach Jenn came to visit us all the way from USA!!! We haven’t seen her since last autumn! It was great to see her again and to talk! And she’s coming to Anyksciai with us! Last MTB marathon stage in LTU!

And weekend OMG! I had my first windsurfing race! It took place in Elektėnai. That was great! I mean knowledge I recieved and hands-on expierence! Organization was unbelievably good! On Sathurday it was 3 heats and I did ok for myself.. it could been better :) The weather was good.. sunny with a few clouds.

Next day  it was 3 heats  and also one long distance marathon. Damn, the marathon was soo scary. I mean the weather went wild. The wind and rain, and I just got scared, cause no one was around… there was nothing else to do, but swim. So I swam and I swam back to coast :) It was first time after a lot of years I felt such a panic of water. Anyway, everything went good and I was very happy at the end.

Some pics:

have fun.

MTB marathon weekend & next-one on lake :D

Aloha!!!

What a few weeks I had!!! So one of my weekends I had MTB marathon and it was held in Ignalina, on Sunday, 8th of August. I rode  35 km and I had so much fun, but also finished soo TIRED. The course was hard, cause it was hot and most of the time we had to ride on sun, without shade. Moreover, it was a lot o hard uphills followed by amazing downhills.

After my finish I waited for my father.. my patience was running out and suddenly it started to rain hardly! Finally, my dad arrived with a big bruises on the right side of his body and with big hole in his bike shorts. What a bummer.. and a bigger one was after I came home I got a call and I heard that something bad happend to Inga!! She got heat stroke. Everything finished ok after all, excluded  visit in hospital! Also, in this event we had Lithuanian trek and cross-country stars  partisipating. It was Simona Krupeckaitė, Gintarė Gaivenytė and Diana Rasimovičiūtė. Anyway, how hard and complicated the course was I enjoyed it!

Elite group winners:

Elijus Čivilis

Diana Rasimovičiūtė

On 14th and 15th of August,  my father and I went to Trakai for weekend of wind surfing as a learner (new sport in my life!!!). On day 1, wind was ok, freeride board ready and GO! We had 4 and half hours of quite hard surfing and I got my half legs ang half arms tanned (worker tan). :D DDD

Next day, my father skipped out and I had to go on my own (alone). I took bigger sail and after the wind came up, actually at that moment I felt it was a bit big to me. It was hard to lift and keep the sail, when a wind blow strongly. After this day i got my skin went out from fingers and it still hurts!! Anyway, the hurts heels :D

On 28th and 29th, I’m planing for other event of windsurfing, which is kind of helping for you to get on next level.  I hope it will went good!

Not waiting for tommorow.. monday such a day even in summer. ;) this monday, i’m visiting doctors, dentist and training and etc. and bla bla bla!

With lots of love,

ieva

P.S. Don’t forget to spent last weeks of summer as GOOD as you can. Do what you want, party hard, enjoy sun, enjoy rain, look at sky, count stars, meet friend, sail, have MTB ride, try a new things and it’s not too late!!! :D D

Ignalina 07.19 – 07.23

I been kind of lazy this weeks, so I didn’t wrote, but now I’m back home for good.  :D

So I came back physical camp, which was in Ignalina. Our team spend there five days from Monday till Friday. The weather was good for first days, but at Wednesday hot weather came here! It was hard to train by such a conditions.  The heat even made us to swim in lake with clothes.. ;) cause we were so sweating.

But generally trainings went good. First one started with warm – up, then jumps, sprints, other physical ex. and etc. Next training was rollerblades, which happend to be very good for me :D D One day , we had water polo instead of rollerblades and it was so much fun :D D

Every evening we played volleyball on sand and at the end of the week I learned to do almost-perfect serves :)

I think, we had perfect time together, also really thought trainings. On August 23rd  we’ll have the same camp. I hope to get and put some pics, the problem is that my camera is broken ;/

with love,

Ieva

P.S

Big congratulations for Ignas Konovalovas, who got 4th place in TOUR THE FRANCE 52 km Time Trial. This resul is so incredible. Also, congrats for Živilė Balčiūnaitė becoming Europe atlethics  marathon champion!!!!

FIS camp selection in Hintertux

Ciau!

I’m back from hintertux, where I participated in FIS camp selection with other guys from all over the world (or europe), also my teammate and friend Ieva joined me. She came all the way from Egypt, where she had her vacations. It was long long way for her and hard one. I came here with my other teammates, who had trainings in Hintertux, but they lived in other hotel.

Ieva and I lived in room with Latvian girls. I knew both of them, so we get along well.

1st day: we arived after that we had dinner and then meeting with coaches. I was really intrigued, because i knew there will be other coach than from last year. Everything went well like for first day.

2nd day:  I slept well, but it was so hard to wake up. I never get up so early in summer… hard thing ;// :) Then we went to breakfast and bla bla bla and etc. After all lifting up, all people came on top and we were supposed to have gate training, but it was foggy, foggy, foggy!! we had maybe one gate run and then few free runs and then we got down :D   At 4 o’clock dryland training.. actually before training I thought it would be easier for me. But day by day I went into the rythm ;}

3rd day: When I woke up in the morning I saw the same  weather again, including the fact that it was worse. After we came up one a hill. We had 2 free runs, one gate run and the it started to rain, after some runs icy rain started. But still we had some runs to do. When Ieva and I got down home, we were thinking just about hot shower!!! Dryland training was just ideal for such a day. But also we had tests. 30m, 300m running.

4th day:  In the morning, I just looked out of the window and i saw amazing view and sun, so I immediatly smiled and believed that it will be a good day.  We had GS course and some free runs and it felt ok. Then in dryland training we ran again, then we did exercises and later there was tests again. It was jumps. We did one jump, then five in row. After all day I started to feel ma legs.. you know what I mean : DD And it was just third day : ) I was quite tired, so when I closed my eyes i fall asleep on same moment. P.S. I forgot to tell that we met Nicola with Girls (Nino, Anna, Liene) and it was so nice to see them again : DDD

5th day: ‘Slalom baby, slalom.’ This was my first thought in morning. But when Ieva and I lifted on hill and skied, I suddenly felt that it wasn’t the day for slalom.. but what i can change.. nothing.. so I skied some crappy slalom. ‘ Ah.. whatever’ I thought. ‘ Tommorow.. one more day for slalom’. We headed back to hotel and again at four o’clock everyone had run and training and one more test. That day, It was jumping on box : ) Sounds nice?.. believe me.. it don’t : DDD

6th day:  I woke up in the morning and I almost felt like P. Diddy.. I hoped that on hill everything will be perfect, but i also expected for the hardest training of all week. And it was so. But nothing to worry about, cause that week Ieva and I found a superwomen’s gene in our bodies : DDD Anyway, it was quite cool training. After all the things on mountain, we had our last  dryland training. We had no tests, just some exersices and football or volleyball. i had fun until some girl kicked in my leg. (of course not on purpose and I don’t blame her, but it still hurts ; // ) . In evening we had small and nice kind of party.. you know what I mean ; ))

So after my long descriptions of the days I want to thank for coaches,  for my roommates Katrina and Beate, for Ieva and for all guys and girls, who made this week wonderful expierence. I’ll miss you, guys!! hope to meet you soon again : P.

And also during this camp, it was FIFA World cup 2010 and what I could say I’m soo happy that Spain won. And i’m so exited, cause i was for them from  very very begining : )) Congrats,  TEAM SPAIN!!!! <3<3<3<3

Ieva

P.S. I forgot to tell about those funny numbers they gave us. They was like from ’80s and I looked stupid in it. But anyway, we had to wear them : DDDD

I hope to put some pics later ;)
